Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of honors, like two Golden Globe Awards, and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Angela Evelyn is an American actress. Bassett was born in New York New York and fostered by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett relocated with her sister to St. Petersburg Florida at five years old so that they could be near their mom as she was divorced from their father. Bassett was in high school and watched John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. Yale University New Haven Connecticut awarded her a bachelor's degree (1980), in African American study, and an advanced degree (1983), from the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in 1980. Masters in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School.
